Picture
Sõrve is a Summer Camp held during the first week of January each year, at Point Wolstoncroft Sport and Recreational facility on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia. Sõrve has a wide range of indoor and outdoor sporting and Estonian cultural activities organised to ensure a fun-filled week is enjoyed by all.

The Australian / Estonian community has been co-ordinating Sõrve Summer Camp for more than 60 years and has a longstanding tradition of :
  • Providing an opportunity for Australian children with Estonian connections to come together to enrich their cultural knowledge in a friendly and safe environment.
  • Providing our young adults with opportunities to develop youth leadership and mentoring skills that will flow on to the wider Australian / Estonian community.

Our team are updating the Laagri Laulik (camp songbook) for Sõrve 2026.
We’re updating the list of songs as well as adding in translations and sheet music, where possible. To help us finalise the list of songs to include in the laulik (golden oldies but also new favourites), we would really appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to fill out this form (click here).
We would love to get information from all of you, so that we can do our best to make this laulik one that reflects Sõrve as it is today and honours its longstanding singing tradition.

Suur tänu Sõrvele päranduse jätmise eest!
Sõrve is honoured to have received a generous bequest from the Estate of the late Maud Kaljot.
Maud was a valued supporter of Sõrve and the role it plays in keeping Estonian culture alive in Australia; often attending fundraising events and donating silent auction items.
Such bequests can make a positive difference for future generations of Australian/Estonian children, of which the Committee is enormously grateful.

We are pleased to announce that The Estonian Cultural Foundation in Australia (ECFA) has generously agreed to provide project funding of the amount of $8,000, for the 2026 Estonian Sõrve Children's Camp.

Hans Ots Award
Additionally, $1900 will provide financial assistance to children or leaders who are resident in Australia and who, because of excessive cost of travel, financial or other hardship reasons would otherwise not be able to attend the annual children’s summer camp.

The Estonian President recognises Sõrve Summer Camp as an important place for Estonian kids in Australia to go to.
Sõrve is mentioned at the 1min 45 sec timestamp.

The Hans Ots Scholarship

Through the generous support of ECFA, a scholarship is available for interstate and regional children who would like to attend the annual Sõrve Summer camp but find the cost prohibitive.
